How to create an Outlook account?
Creating an Outlook account:
Follow the steps below to set up your Zimbra account on Outlook:
Start Microsoft Outlook
Go to the "File" menu, "Account Settings"
On the next window, Click on "New"
Check "Manually configure server settings or additional server types" and click "Next"
Fill in the fields "Your name" and "Email address"
Select the type "IMAP"
Under "Incoming mail server" insert mail.yourdomain.com
Under "Outgoing mail server" insert smtp.yourdomain.com
Under "Username" insert your full email address
Under "Password" insert the password of your email account
Check "Remember password"
Then click on "Additional Settings"
In the "Outgoing server" tab, enable "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
In the tab "Advanced Options"
"Use the following encrypted connection type": choose SSL
On the same screen, replace port 25 with port 465
Click OK
Click on Next, Close and Finish
How to reconfigure your Outlook account (Creating a new account)
1 - Start Microsoft Outlook
2 - Go to the "File" menu located at the top left of your screen, then select the icon
"Account settings"
3- Select "Account Settings" again
4- A new window appears, click on "New"
5- Check the line "Manual configuration or additional types of servers" then click on "Next"
6- Select "POP or IMAP" then click on "Next"
7- A new window appears. Enter the following parameters:
Your name: email account name
Email address: your entire email address (name@domain.yz)
Account type: select "IMAP" (recommended by DFi)
Incoming mail server: Enter the following address "mail.yourdomain.com"
Outgoing mail server: Enter the following address "smtp.yourdomain.com"
Username: your entire email address (name@domain.yz)
Password: the password linked to your email address
Check the field "Remember password"
Then click on "Additional Settings"
8- A new window appears. Go to the "Outgoing server" tab and check the line "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
9- Then go to the "Advanced Options" tab.
At the "Use the following encrypted connection type" line, select "SSL". The value to be assigned to the incoming server (IMAP) is "993" [995 in the case of a POP configuration].
In the second line "Use the following encrypted connection type", select "SSL" and then assign the value "465" to the outgoing mail server (SMTP).
Save these settings by clicking "OK"
10- Click on "next"
11- A test window appears. If both lines are valid, the configuration of your Outlook account has been successful. Click on "Close".
12- To set the new e-mail account as the default address, select the account, click "Set as default" and then "Close".
